albert and Ecotricity team up to bring affordable, sustainable power to the UK creative industries

From keeping the lights on in the studio to making sure the kettle works in the post-production house – energy is the lifeblood of every production. But balancing our reliance on power with the need to make sustainable choices can be challenging.

That is why in 2019 albert launched the Creative Energy Scheme.

The scheme is designed to allow those working in the creative industries to access renewable electricity at an affordable rate.

Today we’re thrilled to announce that Ecotricity, Britain’s greenest energy company, has been confirmed as the new energy partner for the Creative Energy Scheme. *

In 2023 energy consumption on location, in production offices and in studio facilities followed travel as the second-highest emission area for production. While we have seen progress to reduce impact in this area, there is still a long way to go. That is why being able to partner with Ecotricity and provide affordable green energy through the Creative Energy Scheme is so important. Simple and affordable solutions are how we’re going to achieve meaningful climate action.

— Matt Scarff, Managing Director, albert

Ecotricity is a green energy supplier like no other. Not only does it supply 100% renewable electricity and carbon neutralised gas, but it also takes the money it makes and invests it into new forms of green energy.

Through this partnership, the creative industry will have access to affordable green energy and the opportunity to invest in the future of our planet.

Dale Vince, Founder, Ecotricity, said:

“It’s our great pleasure to be going ‘back of house’ with BAFTA on their new Creative Energy Scheme – helping green up the production of TV and film in Britain.”
